But Harvard Health has come up with a portable core office workout that is quick and simple enough to fit into the daily office routine.
They suggest starting with four easy exercises to strengthen your core muscles quickly. Over time you will increase flexibility and stability, improve balance and posture, and tone your whole body.
Think of these core exercises as good beginning workout steps as you incorporate them into your day and continue to expand your exercise routines. All you need is an exercise mat, sturdy chair and counter or desk top.
The Chair Stand: Sit up straight in your chair with hands on knees. Then stand up straight, breathe deeply and repeat five times. Use this simple chair stand as a reminder to break up long work sessions sitting throughout the day.
Front Plank on Desk: Stand up straight. Then keeping the body in a straight line fall forward onto your desk top using the arms to support yourself in plank form. Hold for a few seconds, then push back to a standing position. Repeat five times. Use the exercise whenever you want to take a break from sitting.
Bridge: Lie flat on a mat with your knees bent. Lift your core off the mat and hold in bridge form. Slowly lower body back to the mat. Repeat five times.
Abdominal Contraction: Position yourself on your hands and knees. Breathe normally as you contract and release the abdominal muscles. Repeat five times and try to do the session twice a day.

A portable core office workout can be a great first step in wellness. But what you and your family may really need is a complete wellness program to keep all of you active and healthy in your daily schedules.
Your local chiropractor could be your ideal health and wellness coach. Chiropractors believe wellness and routine chiropractic care should be as basic to our lives as healthy diets and daily exercise.
How This Works
Your chiropractor starts with the purest form of chiropractic care, providing full spinal adjustments using the diversified technique to check for subluxations, which are misalignments of one or more vertebrae in the spine and/or the joints.
When the misalignment is corrected it may have far reaching effects on back, neck and sciatica pain. The spinal adjustments may also help in coping with allergies, TMJ, arthritis, headaches and migraines.
